Y2K Part II

August 23, 2005

Remember the time when the world was spooked with a bug that will bring the planet back to the stone age? Did you remember the confusion it brought several hundreds of people in new year’s eve of 2000?

Predictions mentioned that chaos will ensue following massive blackouts, planes falling from the sky and nuclear war heads launching from their silos. Well, I guess during that time we were all watching too many sci-fi movies.

5 years after the realization that the Y2K Scare was nothing more than a complete hoax, people like me wondered, what was the scientific basis of these doomsday predictions? Could it be that they found a bug that can disrupt the function of our computers fortunately for us the destruction did not occur?

What if we have overlooked the fact that these things could bite us a few years after Y2K bug? Could it be possible?

Well, you’ve heard the news. 4 Plane crashes in a month. The reason behind, unknown. It is easy to blame pilot error but inspite of, these planes were all in separate locations. This means that there maybe something wrong with the instrumentation.

Apparently, people are no longer interested to hear the Y2K proposition theory. That maybe, just maybe, the computer chips that we have installed in these birds are starting to give way. They may have had some kind of malfunction or a glitch that most of us were not able to spot.

I think aviation officials must take a closer look at this dilemma before more planes fall from the sky.

5 years ago we feared the worst . . . Now our nightmares have become a realization.

Y2K Part II is not just a computer bug, it may be something else . . .
