The Red’s might not be crushed . . .

1 BILLION PESOS TO FIGHT THE COMMIS’ . . .

Are you sure?

This is the same value of military arms sale to the Reds. Do you think it will end the insurgency?

The Queen has spoken. And she wanted the Communists eradicated within 2 years.

HOW?

Through a funding that sounded more like a political campaign.

Is this amount enough to defeat an enemy that has existed over the past 4 administrations? The answer: NO! One of the respected columnists in the Philippines, Max Soliven, suggested of arming the Military and the Police with modern equipments using a budget of 100 billion pesos. His point was focused on giving an arsenal to our protectors way beyond their adversaries. Unfortunately, GMA has only promised 1% of that.

Can’t blame her. The government do not have enough revenues to fight a war. This is a lame excuse though. You see, the security of the state should be one of the President’s top priorities. How could the economy prosper without this? Safety is a key element towards a strong Republic.

Instead of bragging about his and showing might on T.V. Why don’t we just do it? Doesn’t anyone learn from the past? This old tactic of broadcasting what the government will do to crush the rebellion was the catalyst that ended the Marcos regime. Instead of defeating the communist insurgency, it strengthened it.

In order to win a war, we need to destroy the Psyche of our enemies and win the hearts of our fighters and the people we are protecting. Is the government doing this? Have they done anything to win the hearts of their sentinels? How about the people? Have they won the support of the majority?

No amount of money will be enough to win a war. Even if it is 1 Trillion Dollars, it is doomed to fail if we cannot build an atmosphere of trust amongst our men. Can economic development to alleviate poverty help? I don’t think so. In whole honesty, poverty is not what caused the rebellion. It is an innate human nature to get alot of things by not exerting an extra effort. It is our desire to become equals. It is the "ROBIN HOOD MATRA" of spreading wealth.

If we live in this kind of society, then we are doomed. I ask you, are those living below the poverty threshold in the frontlines of the communist insurgency? Have you seen those people living in the squatters area shouting for justice or even equality? I tell you, they are too hungry to fight.

The only way to win this war is to earn the respect and support of the people. We even don’t need the bombs and the guns to do this. All we need is the desire of the people to resist these hooligans that continuously try to change our way of life in pursuit of a ghost reality. Just imagine, if people are not afraid to come forward and fight, wouldn’t you think that would be stronger that 10 APC tanks?

Just think about it . . .
